CLAYTON – Clayton Police are investigating an overnight shooting that seriously injured one person. Around 11:55pm Sunday, officers were dispatched to the parking lot behind Domino’s Pizza, at 375 Athletic Club Boulevard.
Police located a male victim sitting in a vehicle suffering a gunshot wound to the neck. The male was rushed by Johnston County EMS to Wake Med where he was immediately taken into surgery.
Police began canvassing the area and conducting interviews. Investigators believe the alleged shooter or shooters fled the area in a white Ford Mustang with dark tinted window.
Police have not released the identity of the victim. At last report he remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Authorities are also working to identify a possible motive.
