Cleveland High senior Katie West was crowned Miss Cleveland at the school’s sixth annual Miss Cleveland Pageant.
The 11 candidates were judged on casual wear, talent, and evening wear. The candidates in this year’s pageant were Chloe Holland, Madison Ingle, Aalana Autry, Khushi Patel, Ashley Bain, Sydney Johns, Olivia Riggs, Kelsie Boykin, Lindsay Morris, Katherine West, and Ashlyn Smith.
West received a crown, a scholarship, and the honor of representing Cleveland High in area parades and events.
Awards and scholarships were also presented for 2nd Runner-Up, 1st Runner-Up, Community Service, Miss Congeniality, and Sponsorship.
Boykin was named Miss Congeniality, which was earned by the votes of her fellow contestants.
The Sponsorship award, also awarded to Boykin, was given to the contestant who raised the highest amount of sponsorship money.
The Community Service award was earned through writing an essay and was awarded to Bain.
The 2nd Runner-Up award was received by Ingle, and the 1st Runner-Up award was received by Johns.
