Commissioners Approve CSS Grant Matching Funds

Community and Senior Services of Johnston County (CSS) has received approval from Johnston County Commissioners to apply for a NC Department of Transportation grant for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

The grant would fund 85 percent of $457,949 in administrative expenses including staff, utilities, vehicle insurance, computer support, etc.

A second part would fund 90% of $444,634 in capital improvements including the purchase of 6 replacement JCATS buses and 6 new two-way radios for the buses.

Commissioners agreed to provide a local match of $113,157.  The NC DOT requires certification local matching dollars are available before making the grant funds available.
