Johnston County Commissioners have approved a rezoning petition off Highway 222 West in the O’Neal’s Township.
Dennis Ray Hall Jr. of Kenly received approval to rezone 1 acre out of a 22.8 acre tract located at 7799 Highway 222 West from General Business – Special Use District to Agricultural Residential (AR).
The one acre tract of land was the site of a former irrigation business but it hasn’t been in operation in a number of years. Hall requested the rezoning so the entire tract would have the same AR zoning classification.
No one spoke in opposition of the request during a Dec. 4th public hearing. The Johnston County Planning Board had previously recommended approval of the rezoning at their Oct. 17th meeting.
