A self-storage facility will be built in the Corinth Holders community after winning approval from Johnston County Commissioners.
Two rezoning cases were before commissioners at their August meeting.
Ned Coleman received permission to construct self-storage units and an outdoor storage area on 3.8 acres he owns at 13096 Highway 96 North in the O’Neals Township. The county will require Coleman to have an 8 foot fence around the property and specialized lighting not to shine on neighboring properties. Commissioners unanimously approved his request. No one spoke in opposition during a public hearing.
Fred Smith Company (FSC) II, LLC received approval to rezone 4.8 acres of land on Raleigh Road near US 301 in Benson. The business plans to store equipment and supplies on the property and also do repair work. An office may eventually be located on the site, which is adjacent to an asphalt plant recently approved by commissioners.
No one spoke in opposition of the request which was unanimously approved by commissioners.
