Two rezoning requests received approval this month from Johnston County Commissioners.
In a 6-to-1 vote, the board approved a request by the Stephen M. Buffkin Family Partnership to rezone two tracts of land totaling 44.16 acres in the 13100 block of Highway 210 in the Pleasant Grove Township from Agricultural Residential (AR) and Community Business (CB) to Agricultural Residential with Interstate Highway Interchange Overlay (IHI). Commissioner Allen Mims voted against the passage in part because the county is required to provide sewer service to developments zoned IHI. No one spoke in opposition to the request.
In a second rezoning case, the board voted 7-to-0 to rezone two vacant tracts of land on Old Drug Store Road in the Cleveland community from Agricultural Residential to General Business. The property is owned by Glover Properties LLC of Willow Spring. No one spoke in opposition of the rezoning petition.
The Johnston County Planning Board had previously met and recommended approval of both rezoning cases.
