Congressman Nickel To Support Bill To Freeze $6B In Iranian Assets

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Wiley Nickel (NC-13), a member of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on National Security, Illicit Finance, and International Financial Institutions, announced Thursday he will vote to freeze six billion dollars in recently transferred Iranian financial assets.

“On October 7th, we saw Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists carry out a brutal and barbaric attack against Jewish people and the State of Israel. Both Iran and Hamas seek to destroy democracy and we must hold them accountable for their actions,” said Congressman Wiley Nickel. “I’m proud to support this bill coming to the floor today that’ll ensure that not a single dollar of this funding, whether directly or indirectly, goes to support Hamas or its efforts to destroy Israel. We must continue to stand with our ally Israel, and ensure they have the resources to disarm and dismantle Hamas and every Iranian-backed terrorist threat.”
