County Property Revaluation Set For 2019
Johnston County Commissioners Monday unanimously approved a contract with a company for the 2019 real property revaluation. Under state law the evaluation must take place at least once every 8 years.
Pearson Appraisal Services, Inc. was selected to complete the reappraisal of an estimated 97,000 parcels of land in the county at a cost of $14.90 per parcel. The contract stipulates the amount will not exceed $14.4 million.
Additional services required by the county tax office for evaluating new construction parcels will cost $25.00 per parcel.
The board agreed to allow the county attorney, tax administrator and manager to finalize the contract with Pearson Appraisal Services.
