The County of Johnston and the Town of Smithfield will pay a portion of the cost to make repairs to the Public Library of Smithfield and Johnston County on Market Street.
A total of $103,000 in repairs are needed. The agencies agreed that $33,000 of the repairs could be completed now with the remaining $70,000 in estimated repairs going through the normal budget process in the next fiscal year.
The $33,000 in repair work to be completed this year includes air sealing exterior walls, sealing duct work in the Meeting Room, wet glazing the windows, and repairs to walls and lighting.
The Town will pay $11,600 towards the cost. Johnston County will pick up $17,400 of the repairs and the Library will pick up the remaining $4,000.
