Daniels Graduates From USAF Pilot Training

Jonathan-W.-Daniels-FI2nd Lt. Jonathan W. Daniels graduated from the USAF Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT) on September 11th.  He was part of the 14th Flying Training Wing at Columbus, AFB, Mississippi.  The SUPT Class 15-14 began on August 13, 2014 and included many hours of classroom instruction, computer based training and simulators before flying the T-6A Texan II and then the T-1A Jayhawk. 

The T-6 has a turbo-prop engine that delivers 1,100 horsepower which can reach 18,000 feet in less than six minutes.  The aircraft is fully aerobatic and features a pressurized cockpit with an anti-G system, ejection seat and an advanced avionics package. 

The T-1 is a twin-engine jet aircraft which has advanced avionics used to teach new pilots the fundamentals of instrument flight, navigation, air refueling, formation airdrop, and crew resource management.  

Lt. Daniels will report to Charleston AFB, South Carolina to fly the C-17A Globemaster III after completing Combat Survival Training at the USAF Survival School at Fairchild AFB in Washington and C-17 training at Altus AFB in Altus, Oklahoma. 
 
Jonathan is the son of Hank and Sarai Daniels of Smithfield.
