Sunday afternoon, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they are investigating the death of former Fremont Mayor Floyd Anthony “Andy” Evans.
Evans was found deceased at one of his properties located at 129 Evans Farm Road in Fremont around 1:20pm Saturday.
Officials have not said how he died.
The NC State Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office with this investigation due to the fact that Mr. Evans was a former public official.
In a press release, officials said no further information would be released at this time.
