The death of a woman near Newton Grove is being treated as suspicious.
On Thursday, Sampson County EMS personnel responded to a location on Alex Benton Road just outside the Newton Grove city limits and contacted the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies announced Friday afternoon the investigation is ongoing and the death is being treated as “suspicious in nature.”
The name of the woman or the circumstances surrounding how she died has not been released.
