Deputies Arrest Man Accused Of Stealing Guns In Break-In

SELMA — A Selma man has been arrested in connection with a September break-in during which several firearms were stolen.
John Nicholas Rhodes, 27, of Wiggs Road, was arrested Nov. 3 and charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, six counts of felony larceny of a firearm, misdemeanor resisting a public officer, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the charges stem from a Sept. 7 report of a break-in on Thompson Woodard Road near Selma. The homeowner told investigators that multiple firearms had been stolen sometime between Sept. 6 and Sept. 7.
Detectives later identified Rhodes as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody on Nov. 3 and booked into the Johnston County Detention Center under a $101,000 secured bond.

“You are stealing? Right to jail!”
This is the kind of theft that results in guns reaching the hands of street gangs. Hopefully, they can recover the weapons before they end up on the streets. Good job LEO’s!
