Deputies Arrest Teen At Princeton-Area Church On Felony Charge

PRINCETON, N.C. – An 18-year-old Wilson man was jailed without bond Friday after Johnston County deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call at a Princeton-area church.

Deputies were called around 2:20 a.m. Sept. 25 after a vehicle was reported parked beside the rural church.

Officers arrived and reportedly found Joshua Caleb Jones II, 18, inside the vehicle with an underage juvenile female.

Following an investigation, Jones was charged with felony indecent liberties with a minor.

Authorities said Jones was already out of jail on a $100,000 bond following a March 16 incident and subsequent arrest by Princeton Police on a separate felony indecent liberties charge.

The alleged victim in the March case is the same juvenile involved in the Sept. 25 incident, according to authorities.

As a condition of his release on the earlier charge, Jones had been ordered to stay away from the juvenile.

Following Friday’s arrest, Jones was held without bond at the Johnston County Detention Center in Smithfield.

Both cases remain pending in court.

There was no known connection between either Jones or the juvenile and the church.
