Authorities are investigating an attempted home invasion. It happened around 3:00am Friday on Yellow Bell Court, south of Zebulon at the Johnston-Wake County line.
Johnston County deputies responded to the address for a burglar alarm. When they arrived the 31 year-old resident told officers he was asleep when his alarm activated. He then noticed the power to his home had been turned off and someone had tried to make entry into his home by prying on the back door.
Deputies discovered where the electricity had been turned off at an outside breaker box and confirmed there was damage to an exterior door.
There are no suspects in the case, but it has been assigned to investigators.
