Deputies: Man Fired Gun At Acquaintance During Argument

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. –– A 43-year-old man was arrested after deputies said he fired a handgun at an acquaintance during an argument inside a southern Johnston County home.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded around 9:53 p.m. Aug. 30 to a disturbance at a home in the 12200 block of NC Highway 96 South near Dunn, just inside Johnston County.
Deputies allege Camilo Nunez Perez, 43, of the same address, was arguing with a 37-year-old man in the kitchen when Perez allegedly produced a 9mm handgun and fired toward the man’s feet.
The victim was not struck.
Perez was taken into custody and charged with felony discharging a weapon into occupied property and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
Deputies seized the handgun as evidence.
No injuries were reported.
