ARCHER LODGE – Deputies have tracked down a train thief. Dustin Glenn Keel, age 36, of the 7500 block of Applewhite Road, Wendell was busted this week on multiple charges.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office alleges Keel stole a trackless train and enclosed trailer, owned by Big Bounce Party Rentals of Clayton, from a storage lot on Wendell Road near Archer Lodge in January.
A few days ago, the Royal Express trackless train was located disassembled at an address in Franklin County.

Keel is also accused of stealing a construction trailer and assorted tools from a jobsite on Longbow Drive, Middlesex, in Johnston County, on February 1. The stolen trailer was located a short time later in Wake County with the tires missing. The tools had also been removed.
Keel was arrested Feb. 22 on multiple warrants including possession of a stolen motor vehicle, larceny of a motor vehicle, obtaining property by false pretense, possession of stolen property, larceny, felony conspiracy, breaking and entering, and probation violation.
Keel was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $212,000 secured bond.
