Deputy Involved In Accident With Tractor Trailer

FOUR OAKS – A Johnston County Sheriff’s Office patrol car and tractor trailer were involved in a sideswipe collision. The accident happened Thursday morning on NC Highway 96, just south of Keen Road.
A tractor trailer was traveling northbound and the marked patrol car was headed southbound when the vehicles sideswiped.

The collision caused significant damage to the back of the patrol car. Damage to the semi was very minimal.
The State Highway Patrol responded to investigate. We have reached out to the Highway Patrol to learn more about the collision.

No injuries were reported.

The car will be totaled out. The deputy will be issused a dodge durango. The deputy was not hurt. Truck driver will be ruled at fault. His or her insurance will pay to replace the cop car. Life goes on.
