JOHNSTON COUNTY – Michael Curtis Jones of Raleigh is facing criminal charges after he reportedly resisting arrest.

On June 14 around 9:42am, a Johnston County deputy responded to a motel on Cleveland Crossing Drive, off Veterans Parkway, to a report Jones had threatened a homeless women with a knife.
The officer located Jones walking nearby. Jones refused to answer any questions. After being told he was under arrest, Jones resisted and tried to flee on foot. A struggle ensued and Jones was tased.
Jones was briefly hospitalized for an unrelated medical issue before being taken to the Johnston County Detention Center and charged with assault on a government official and two counts of resisting an officer.
The 39 year-old man was also served with a Wake County warrant for violating a domestic violence restraining order.
