FOUR OAKS – Johnston County Report has confirmed that Dollar General is considering a third location in the Four Oaks area. The company is currently exploring a potential new site on Highway 701 South at Keen Road.
” At this time, we are currently in due diligence phase for a new Dollar General in Four Oaks… that would be located off Highway 701. This means we are reviewing the opportunity to add a new store in the area, but we have not committed to doing so just yet. Based on our current timeline, we anticipate to have a final decision on this by the beginning of 2021,” according to Angela Petkovic with Dollar General Public Relations.
In selecting store sites, Petkovic said Dollar General take a number of factors into consideration including “…carefully evaluating each potential new store location to ensure we can continue to meet our customers’ price, value and selection needs. We further strive to provide convenience for customers who may not have affordable nearby retail options.”
If Dollar General moves forward with construction of a new store on Highway 701, it would employ between 6 and 10 workers.
Dollar General currently has two other locations in the Four Oaks area at 9817 Highway 210 and 6043 Highway 301 South.
