For the third year in a row Johnston County added more streets to the State Maintained System than any other county in North Carolina, including Wake and Mecklenburg counties.
This month, County Commissioners approved adding Brahma Drive, Larkwood Lane, and Shadowbark Drive in the Bluffs at Southfort Phase I in the Pleasant Grove Township; Red Wood Road and Box Elder Way in the Remington Hills Phase II in O’Neals Township; Shetland Drive in Langdon Farm in the Pleasant Grove Township;, and Windy Drive, Brisk Court, and Calm Court in the Sandy Grove development in the Pleasant Grove Township.
Johnston has added more streets to the NC DOT system than any other county in 2015, 2016, and 2017, according to County Planning Director Berry Gray.
