DOT Considering Two Bridges Over US 70 In Johnston County

The NC Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting Tuesday, Feb. 2nd regarding proposed improvements along US 70 in Wilson’s Mills. The open-house style meeting will take place between 4 and 7 pm in the cafeteria of Wilson’s Mills Elementary School, located at 4654 Wilson’s Mills Road in Wilson’s Mills.

At the meeting, residents will learn more about the department’s proposed plans designed to improve safety and traffic flow while maintaining access along the US 70 corridor in Johnston County. There are currently intersections on U.S. 70 at Swift Creek Road and Wilson’s Mills Road. The proposed improvements include constructing bridges that would carry Swift Creek Road and Wilson’s Mills Road over U.S. 70, as well as building ramps and service roads that would improve access at these locations for local traffic.
