Sunday afternoon, a person doing landscape work accidentally cut a gas line on East Second Street in Downtown Clayton.
The Clayton Fire Department responded and immediately shut down the streets in the area. Local businesses were closed on Sunday, so no evacuations were necessary.
Piedmont Natural Gas sent a crew to repair the broken line. No injuries were reported.
