SELMA – State troopers arrested a motorist who attempted to elude law enforcement officers. Thursday night, several state troopers were conducting radar enforcement on Interstate 95 between Micro and Selma.
Troopers witnessed three vehicles traveling southbound that appeared to be racing. The officers got behind a black Mercedes traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver reportedly refused to pull over.
The chase exited off I-95 onto US70 in Selma and ended in the parking lot of Wendy’s.
The driver and one passenger were arrested on several charges. The Mercedes was seized under the NC Run and Done Law.
The other two speeding vehicles on I-95 managed to get away.
No injuries were reported.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and Selma Police Department assisted.
