Driver Arrested And Vehicle Seized After High Speed Chase
JOHNSTON COUNTY – A high speed chase ended with the arrest of a 37 year-old man. Police arrested Travis Quihton Hinton of Zebulon on multiple charges and seized the silver 1998 Lexus he was reportedly driving.

It started around 4:14am Monday, June 8 on Cleveland Road near Interstate 40. A Johnston County deputy sheriff stopped Hinton for an equipment violation. As the officer approached the car the driver suddenly sped away.
The officer pursued the vehicle onto Interstate 40 westbound where the chase reportedly reached speeds of 107 miles per hour.
Hinton stopped after a short pursuit along I-40. During his arrest suspected cocaine and marijuana were reportedly found.
Hinton was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and an equipment/lighting violation.
The Lexus was seized under the NC Run and Done Law.
No injuries were reported.
