A Clayton man was injured in a single vehicle accident Monday morning on his 34th birthday.
The crash was reported at 9:50am in the 15700 block of Buffalo Road north of Archer Lodge.
The Highway Patrol said William Justice Massey of Clayton was traveling northbound on Buffalo Road when he ran off the roadway to the right in a curve. His 2007 Chevy SUV struck a fence then a driveway culvert causing the vehicle to overturn.
Troopers said the posted speed limit in the area is 55mph. Troopers estimated Massey was traveling at 65mph at the time of the collision.
He was taken to Wake Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
