SELMA – The driver of a Toyota SUV lost control of his vehicle, went through a ditch and was sent airborne into a power pole on River Road in Selma.
Selma and Smithfield firefighters responded to the single vehicle accident, around 9:00pm Saturday, and worked for 20 minutes to extricate the critically injured victim. He was transported to Wake Medical Center.
A witness to the crash reported that the Toyota nearly stuck them head-on before “going up on two wheels” and crashing.
