BENSON – A motorist involved in a single vehicle accident last week has died as a result of their injuries. The collision occurred on Wednesday, March 10th at 9:06pm on Highway 50 North near Langdon Road.
The State Highway Patrol said Tony Gale Capri, 61, of Coats was traveling southbound on Highway 50 North at the posted speed limit of 55mph when his 2001 Honda crossed the centerline and ran off the roadway to the left. The vehicle struck a ditch, then a tree, before coming to rest off the roadway. Capri was wearing a seat belt.
Capri was transported to WakeMed where he died March 11th as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
