A 27 year-old man was injured when his car ran off Buffalo Road just south of the US 70 Bridge an overturned in the front yard of a home.
Emergency crews responding to the 8:00pm Saturday crash found the driver, Braulio Hernandez of Selma, badly injured.
The Highway Patrol said Hernandez was traveling southbound on Buffalo Road towards Smithfield when his Kia ran off the roadway and struck a ditch, tree, cable box and water meter before overturning.
Hernandez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. He was rushed to Wake Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
Troopers estimated he was traveling 65 mph in a 45 mph zone when the wreck occurred.
