The driver of a pickup truck was injured in a rear-end collision on Highway 42 East at King Road, near the Highway 39 interchange. The two vehicle collision occurred Saturday morning.
The driver of a white Honda reportedly slammed into the rear of a slower moving Ram pickup. The truck driver was injured and transported to Johnston Health in Smithfield.
The Honda driver was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The 8:15am crash briefly shut down Highway 42 East. The State Highway Patrol investigated.
