Driver Killed In I-95 Crash Identified

KENLY – The State Highway Patrol has released the identify of a tractor trailer driver killed in a collision on Interstate 95 near Kenly.  The single vehicle accident was reported at 11:14am Wednesday, near the 107 mile marker.

Highway Patrol Sgt. J.A. Gentry said the tractor trailer was traveling southbound when it ran off the interstate to the right and collided with several trees. A load of frozen produce in the enclosed trailer shifted, and came through the front wall of the trailer, and into the cab of the truck, killing the driver.

Charles Victor Follette, 42, of Mt. Olive, NC was killed in the crash.   It took several hours for emergency crews to extricate Follette from the wreckage.

One southbound lane of I-95 was closed until the accident could be cleared.
