ARCHER LODGE – One person was seriously injured in a single vehicle accident. The collision was reported around 5:00pm Thursday on Wendell Road near Archers Way, in the Archer Lodge city limits.
A pickup was reportedly traveling southbound on Wendell Road when the driver ran off the roadway to the right, overcorrected, traveled off the roadway to the left, down an embankment, and collided with a tree.
The driver, the only occupant, was severely pinned. North Side Fire personnel used rescue tools to extricate the driver in approximately 15 minutes. The victim was rushed by Johnston County EMS to Wake Med with serious injuries.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
