Drug Trafficking Suspect Rearrested While Out On Bond
SMITHFIELD, N.C. — A Clayton man who was free on a $90,000 bond while awaiting trial on multiple felony drug charges is back behind bars after Smithfield Police allegedly caught him with more cocaine during a traffic stop.
Darryl Edward Galloway, 56, of Peach Tree Lane in Clayton, formerly of Second Avenue in Smithfield, was arrested July 27 following a traffic stop near the intersection of East Market Street and Pine Street.
According to police, officers stopped Galloway’s vehicle around 6:19 p.m. Before bringing the vehicle to a complete stop, Galloway allegedly threw a Dollar General shopping bag from the car.
Officers recovered the bag and reportedly found suspected cocaine inside. A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered additional cocaine and marijuana.
Police said a total of approximately 31 grams of cocaine and 8 grams of marijuana were seized during the investigation.
Galloway was charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, and possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana. All four charges are felonies.
Investigators also seized $87 in cash and two cell phones believed to be connected to the investigation. The 2019 Genesis Galloway was driving was impounded.
The latest arrest comes just over two months after Galloway was arrested on similar allegations.
On May 14, he was charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine, possession of a firearm by a felon, and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance following a separate investigation. During that same arrest, he was also served with outstanding warrants stemming from an April 19 case charging him with selling cocaine and possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine.
Court records show Galloway was released on a $90,000 secured bond following the May arrest and was scheduled to appear in Johnston County Superior Court on Aug. 13. Instead, police allege he committed another felony drug offense while free on bond.
Galloway was given a $200,000 bond following his first court appearance on July 28. At last check, he was still in the Johnston County Detention Center.

I completely agree with you, but it doesn’t seem like this guy has a abuse problem, it seems more like he has a “selling” problem. He’s out here making a living on other peoples misery. Now that is not okay.

the amount of drugs he had is more of a user than a seller. I get it, you are out on bond so having that’s in your possession is a a violation. However, there are so many judgemental people up here when it is comes to someone black, yet no one post one the mom who endangered her child, or the one with the Meth charges, or the pervert messing with these little child. Not always the rant of a black person, just a concerned citizen.

It’s just about destroying your God given life and body!! Furthermore, I really don’t care if this dude used or not .
