Suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia were found inside a car parked outside Lowes Food at the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 42 Monday afternoon.
Johnston County deputies received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the store parking lot around 12:15pm. Officers said they located 19 year-old Jason Michael Bailey and 23 year-old Patryce Bryan Scott, both of Raleigh in the vehicle.
During a search of the car, suspected heroin, a Ruger pistol, ammunition, a cell phone, cash, needles, and drug paraphernalia items were allegedly found.
Bailey was charged with trafficking in opium or heroin, conspiracy to traffic in opium or heroin, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $151,000.
Scott was charged with conspiracy to traffic in opium or heroin, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $50,500.
