DUNN – The Dunn Area History Museum is raffling off a new commemorative rifle that celebrates history through donations that keep the museum alive.

This Henry Repeating Arms lever-action .44 caliber rifle with a 20-inch barrel from the Henry Rifle Co. is embossed with Dunn logos and features Dunn Area History Museum engravings.

It has gold filled engraving on both left and right receiver sides and a burnt-in museum logo on the right butt stock, said museum President Mark Johnson.

“This rare and high quality Henry is 100% made by the Henry Rifle Company for the Dunn Area History Museum with a total of 10 made,” he added. “This collectors grade rifle is serial number 006.”

Only 250 tickets will be sold at $20 per ticket. The drawing for the winner of this rifle will be on or before June 28. The Henrys are stored at the Gunners Choice Gun Shop in Dunn. The lucky winner must qualify and pass all required background checks and requirements to take possession of the rifle.

All tickets sales go directly for the standard operation of the Dunn Area History Museum. Tickets are for sale at the museum and at Gunners Choice, 106A Carolina Drive. The Dunn Area History Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 910-891-1772 for more information.
