SELMA – A woman was charged with driving while impaired after losing control of her car on Highway 96 just north of Little Divine Road on Monday night. Her overturning car narrowly missed striking a home but did collide with a three-quarter ton pickup truck parked in the driveway. The truck, with brand new tires and wheels which were Christmas presents and had just been installed, was destroyed.
Surprisingly, the driver, who was alone in her car at the time, was not injured in the 10:15PM crash.
State Highway Patrol Trooper Douglas investigated the accident.
According to the fire chief, it was the second such crash of the night for the Thanksgiving Fire Department. The first accident also resulted in DWI charges against the driver, the Chief said.
