DWI Suspect Crashes Into Downtown Restaurant

CLAYTON – The driver of a pickup truck is facing charges after police said he crashed into a power pole and business in Downtown Clayton. Police Chief Greg Tart said the single vehicle accident was reported around 1:00am Wednesday in the 400 block of East Main Street.

Chief Tart said a 2014 GMC Sierra pickup truck struck a Town of Clayton utility pole and also the front of Manning’s Restaurant. The restaurant sustained significant damage.

The driver of the truck, identified by police as Miguel Angel Rosales, 38, of Raleigh, was arrested for driving while impaired and damage to property.

Manning’s Restaurant posted on their social media account the damage has been cleaned up and temporary fixes made. They are operating and open normal hours.

  2. Did y’all see the video? He was in reverse down Main St. for a good bit, at significant speed, before striking the building. Insane.
