Caleb Mitchell Turner received dual recognition during his Eagle Scout Ceremony. Turner has a dual membership in Boy Scout Troop 346 of Raleigh and Venture Crew 33 of Clayton.
Caleb has been involved in scouting for 10 years since he became a Tiger Cub in Pack 346 at Raleigh Moravian Church in 2008. He earned the God and Me Award as a Cub Scout, and he received the Arrow of Light and crossed over to the Troop 346 in 2012.
Currently Caleb is a member of Troop 346 at Raleigh Moravian Church and a member of Venture Crew 33 at Oakland Presbyterian Church in Clayton.
He’s also a member of the Order of the Arrow, Occoneechee Lodge 104.
Caleb is a lifelong member of Raleigh Moravian Church, where he has been active with the youth group (including summer mission trips) and the youth choir.
He’s an alumnus of the Raleigh Boys Choir.
As a middle school student, Caleb was in the school band, on the Math Counts team, and a member of the Junior Beta Club. He participated in the Duke TIP (Talent Identification Program) and attended a People to People Leadership program in Washington, DC.
Caleb is currently a Junior at Cleveland High School where he’s an honors student who takes honors AP and CCP classes. He is dual enrolled at his school through the Career and College Promise program, which allows him to earn college credit during high school.
Caleb was recently inducted into the National Honor Society.
At school, he plays in the marching band drum line and percussion section of the concert band. He has been a member of the All County and All District Bands.
Caleb plans to attend a NC State University in 2020, where he is considering studying finance, economics or math. He is the son of Wilbur and Cindy Turner of Garner.
During his Nov. 17th Eagle Scout Ceremony, Caleb was presented an Eagle Scout Coin from Junior Past Commandant John Dilday from the Marine Corps League Tar Heel Detachment 733 of Raleigh (left) and an Eagle Scout Good Citizenship Award from Eagle Scout Coordinator Lewis W. Rice III of the Johnston County Marine Corps League Carry-On Detachment 1236 (right).
