Local, state and federal authorities are jointly investigating a fire that destroyed an eastern Johnston County home.
The fire was reported at 5:20AM Wednesday at 5377 Princeton-Kenly Road, Kenly, across the street from Rains Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church.
The Princeton, Kenly and Micro Fire Departments responded to the scene to find the house involved in flames. Crews worked together to bring the fire under control while also protecting adjacent homes in the Millennium Pointe subdivision.
The Johnston County Emergency Services Fire Marshal Division, Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, NC Office of State Fire Marshal, NC SBI and federal ATF agents responded.
County Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said the fire originated in the garage, however the cause has not yet been determined.
No injuries were reported.
