SMITHFIELD – An elderly Smithfield man was seriously injured after being assaulted at his home. The incident was reportedly on June 27 around 9:14 p.m. at the victim’s Baker’s Chapel Road address.
The 74 year-old man said he heard a knock at his door. He opened the door and saw two unknown suspects. The suspects reportedly struck him in the head and face causing serious injuries.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of broken facial and jaw bones, and a brain bleed.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the attack.
Is this the same elderly man that, a few months ago, got scammed and the criminals came to his house to get the money? If so, why didn’t his family move him away from there? They had to know that the criminal scammers would return. They are relentlessly evil.
No it is not the same man. He did not get scammed. These were two cowards that attacked an elderly disabled person

This is not the elderly man that got scammed. Also he does have family and the two criminals that attacked an elderly man that was in bad health and disabled will be held accountable.
