Ex-Grocery Store Employee Stole Cash From Register Numerous Times, JCSO Says
CLAYTON – A former employee at Food Lion at 9147 Cleveland Road, Clayton has been arrested. Jayln Anian Boone, age 24, of Coats Ridge Drive, Benson was arrested April 1 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
On March 29, loss prevention officials at Food Lion reported to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office that Boone had allegedly removed money from a register, on eight different occasions, since February. The amounts varied from approximately $39 to $500. Altogether, $1,099.22 in cash was allegedly stolen.
Boone was also reportedly caught on video stealing a pack of Newport cigarettes valued at $8.36.
Boone was charged with felonious larceny by an employee.
