CLAYTON – One person was transported to the hospital Tuesday night after being stabbed. The assault was reported at 9:14pm on Brookhaven Drive in the Magnolia Village subdivision off NC Highway 42 East. EMS transported a 44 year-old male victim to the emergency room for treatment of a stab wound to the arm.

Johnston County sheriff’s deputies found a chaotic scene when they arrived and several individuals were still attempting to fight. The victim ran outside of his home towards deputies saying he had been stabbed.

Authorities believe the incident started as a verbal dispute between two women. One woman then swung a tray at the other female and they began fighting in the street. Two men then began fighting and one was stabbed. A juvenile had a minor injury and passed out. The juvenile was evaluated at the scene but not transported.

Investigators believe it may have been a dispute between family members that got out of control.

Detectives are investigating the incident and interviewing witnesses.
