Family Injured In Interstate 95 Accident

KENLY – Six people traveling from Pennsylvania to Florida to attend a family reunion were injured in a single vehicle accident Friday morning on Interstate 95 near the 106 mile marker in Kenly.

A pickup truck towing a camper reportedly swerved out of control striking a guardrail and overturned around 10:10am. Five people in the truck and one person riding in the camper being towed were injured and transported to WakeMed.

The person riding inside the camper was seriously injured. All the other injuries were less serious.

Southbound traffic on I-95 near Kenly was heavily delayed following the crash.

The NCDOT responded to evaluate the damaged guardrail. The State Highway Patrol investigated the incident.

  1. My God, who in the world would let someone ride in a camper while traveling. I have said it so many times. Common sense isn’t so common.
