BENSON – Four adults and two children lost most of their belongings after a fire left their home uninhabitable. Everyone inside the home made it out unharmed.
The blaze was reported around 3:00pm Monday at 708 W. Parrish Drive in Benson. The Benson, Four Oaks and Dunn Fire Departments responded and had the blaze under control within 30 minutes.
Due to the excessive hot weather and flames firemen were having to deal with, multiple EMS units and a Rehabilitation Unit responded to assist fire personnel.
The American Red Cross responded and provided assistance to the displaced family.
As of Tuesday, the cause of the fire had not been determined but it remains under investigation by the Johnston County Emergency Services Fire Marshal Division and the Benson Police Department.
