A farm worker is recovering from serious injuries after being attacked and beaten. It happened Sunday morning at a farm on Lakewood Road near Four Oaks.
The 38 year-old victim was reportedly in a van talking on a cell phone when four people approached, pulled him from the van, and severely beat him. The victim said one of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim and pulled the trigger but the weapon did not fire.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and EMS workers responded to the scene around 1:30am Sunday to investigate and transport the victim to the hospital. A sheriff’s office spokesperson said Monday they are searching for 4 black male suspects.
