    • I agree with you. People just don’t think they will ever be in an accident but at some point, they will. I am sure the father thought that, and I am sure that the dad did not set out to lose his child, but I feel that the law is the law, and he should be charged with something. If Alcohol and speed is not a factor, then I hope his sentence will be light. The dad is going to suffer for what he did. Prayers for the entire family and may God take that little baby.

  1. Pure pitiful. I’m so sorry for the Dad and family. I pray God comforts them. Imagine what a carseat can do.

  2. I cannot imagine the immense pain these parents and the baby’s family must be experiencing. I am praying for them all. I have an almost 3 month old and a 16 month old and I can not begin to imagine life without either of them. Rest in peace sweet girl 💗

  3. By the law, the driver may be the one charged, but there were 7 other people in that van that could be accountable. That van only holds 9 passengers and there was no empty seat.

    • I think you meant the van holds up to 8 passengers. Depending on model – either 7 or 8.
Meaning they never should have left home without having a seat assigned to each human. Unfortunately, they are having to pay a hefty price for their decision.

  4. It’s a sad when there’s a single accident and on top of that an innocent baby passes away along with being in an accident. I can’t describe what’s it like to lose a child; but, I’ve had family members and people that I’ve known for years lost a child rather if it’s a infant to older ones. My heart goes out to the family. Since the state troopers says that there was no alcohol or speed didn’t play a factor, the father might had been very tired and could have fallen asleep for that short time. That’s why they say that if you’re driving a long distance and feeling tired, pull into a rest area, go into other parking lots, go check out a hotel room for so sleep or have someone else to take over the driving. So, make sure people that you wouldn’t have to go through on what this family went through in this tragic lost.

  5. Nope sorry, I’m going to assume you don’t *** about your child if you can’t buckle them in a carseat properly.

  6. Who in their right mind get into a vehicle without putting a infant in a car seat?!? I’m glad the father was charged. That’s too many people in a little mini van anyways. I agree with the other comment that says the other passengers should be charged too!

  7. I have seen people breastfeeding their infant in their vehicle. Sadly they take them out of the car seat to do this. Some people can’t afford a breast pump (and are made to believe formula is not even a viable choice) and I don’t know of any car seats designed to help an infant and mother do so safely. I wish I had the skills to design such a device.
And to address the breastfeeding/formula debate I have seen for decades now – a fed baby is what matters. Do what works for you and your child.

***I have no clue if this is what happened in this particular instance – I was just stating that I have personally seen what I mentioned with other people. It is dangerous but I can see how a screaming hungry infant can be overwhelming – though I would personally get off at the nearest safe exit, park in a well lit 24 hour gas station/convenience store and proceed to feed my child.

So sorry for this families loss…

    • Ao you pull over and feed your child would be no different if they were formula fed. Why are you making excuses for horrible parenting??

      • I am not making excuses – just stating what I have seen in my very long life experiences. When feeding with a bottle one can easily just sit in the backseat and feed the baby. I have yet to see a car seat designed so that a woman who is breastfeeding (not using a bottle but her actual breasts) can so so comfortably and safely. And as I also stated I don’t know if that is what happened in this accidents. Humans have made bad choices for centuries and will continue to do so. I just don’t automatically assume bad intentions from the get go – as life experiences have taught me the most random things can happen and end up going tragically wrong. None of us know if there was a car seat and the child was briefly taken out of it for whatever reason. I am just glad that when I was growing up and my parents held me on their lap or just sat me in the backseat that nothing tragic happened as it did to many adults and children back before seat belts and car seats were required.
Funny how I got roasted a few weeks ago when I made a comment about adults wearing seat belts could have saved their lives. Three people died and none wore seat belts yet no one said anything about their bad decisions except me and one other person. Wonder why this family is getting beef and no one said anything about the three dying that all made life ending decisions..
        Typical joco …
