Father Accused Of Stealing Cash From Autistic Son

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Wayne County man has been charged after authorities say he stole cash from his own autistic son.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported on June 27 after 53-year-old Thomas Glenn Wiggs allegedly took his son’s wallet while dropping the child off with his mother.
Investigators said the wallet contained $125 in cash. Deputies reported the theft caused the juvenile significant distress.
Detectives investigated the complaint and obtained a warrant charging Wiggs with one count of misdemeanor larceny. The warrant was served Monday.
The wallet was later recovered, but investigators said the $125 had not been returned.
Wiggs, of Erik Drive in Dudley, was charged with misdemeanor larceny.
