Fellowship Masonic Lodge #84 Hosts Scholarship Breakfast March 28

SMITHFIELD, N.C. – The Fellowship Masonic Lodge #84 in Smithfield is gearing up for its annual pancake breakfast, a beloved community tradition that raises funds for the Evander S. Simpson Memorial Scholarship, which supports Johnston County High School seniors.

Simpson was a pioneer in Johnston County education, serving as a teacher, principal, and superintendent from 1951 to 1980. Beyond his work in the classroom, he honorably served the county during World War II and was later appointed to the Education Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, at the Masonic Lodge located at 913 S. Brightleaf Blvd. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.

High school seniors interested in applying for the Evander S. Simpson Memorial Scholarship are encouraged to contact their guidance counselors for applications.

This annual event not only celebrates a community leader’s legacy but also gives local students a boost as they prepare for their next chapter.
