Fire Damages Garage

SELMA – Several fire departments responded to a fire at an auto repair garage, Saturday afternoon.

Flames caused extensive damage to the building in the 8100 block of Buffalo Road, north of Selma.

Crews from North Side, Selma and Wilson’s Mills Fire Departments responded. Firefighters battled the flames and hot afternoon temperatures. The fire was quickly brought under control.

The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office responded to investigate the cause.

Unconfirmed reports indicate fire may have originated from sparks in a burn barrel, which ignited debris in a roll off dumpster, then spread to the garage.

No injuries were reported.
