Fire Destroys Johnston County Auto Repair Garage

DUNN – A Johnston County auto repair garage was destroyed following an overnight fire. At 9:57pm Thursday, fire crews were dispatched to B&K Performance Specialties at 3695 Holly Grove Road, Dunn in southern Johnston County.

Firefighters discovered a working fire and called for additional resources. A tanker task force response was requested. A total of 15 fire departments responded, bringing in additional water tankers from Johnston, Sampson, Harnett, Wayne and Wake counties. The fire was marked under control nearly four hours later, at 1:48am Friday.

The building appears to be a total loss, along with several cars parked inside.

No injuries were reported.

The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
